Planning your trips

Travelling by public transport takes some getting used to. Departure times, platform numbers, connections, delays... It can be a hassle in the beginning.

There are a few apps to help you along the way. We definitely advise you to download and use atleast one of them. We will shortly inform you about these apps and how they differ from one another.

Back in the day you could call the phone number '06-9292' to get all Dutch public transport information. Nowadays this partnership of public transport carriers informs you via the app '9292'.

9292 is the most inclusive app for Dutch public transport. You can plan your trip from and to any specific address, a railway station, bus stop, your school, pretty much all often-visited places. It always shows the fastest method of travel, be it by walking, cycling, train or tram.

You can download the app for iOS and Android. If you do not want to download the app, you can use the website.

'NS' is the abbreviation of 'Nationale Spoorwegen'. This is the main (government owned) train carrier in the Netherlands. On most train routes you will travel by their yellow-and-blue trains.

The NS app is the best app for train travel. It has more details about the stations, how busy a train is and what facilities you will find on that train. Since a recent release it also shows other forms of transport. This means planning your trip from A to B is easy, clear and detailed.

You can download the app for iOS and Android. If you do not want to download the app, visit the website.
